Visa-free travel for U.S. citizens — new opportunities to explore Uzbekistan

Starting January 1, 2026, citizens of the United States will be able to visit Uzbekistan visa-free for up to 30 days. Travelers no longer need to apply for a visa in advance — they can simply choose their dates, book their tickets and enjoy a smooth, spontaneous trip. This policy opens the door for American visitors to discover Uzbekistan’s rich cultural, historical and natural attractions with ease.

The visa-free regime was introduced under Presidential Decree №UP-203 on November 3, 2025, and aims to strengthen cultural and tourism ties between Uzbekistan and the United States. For travelers, it means greater flexibility, fewer formalities and more opportunities to explore unique destinations without additional paperwork.

Uzbekistan becomes more accessible for those who want to experience the ancient cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, walk through the vibrant streets of Tashkent, or try local cuisine. Trips can now be planned in advance or decided spontaneously, without waiting for consular approval.

The decision makes Uzbekistan more open to international guests, encouraging visitors to explore its iconic architecture, traditional crafts, diverse landscapes and renowned hospitality. For many U.S. travelers, this will be a new reason to choose Uzbekistan as a destination where history and modern life coexist in a truly captivating way.
