When you book a hotel in Uzbekistan, you may see an additional charge called the tourist fee.
This is a mandatory fee for staying at a hotel or other accommodation property. Guests pay the fee, and the accommodation provider transfers it to the state budget.
The fee applies to both:
- citizens of Uzbekistan
- foreign guests
It is charged for each night of stay.
Who needs to pay the tourist fee?
The tourist fee is paid by guests staying in:
- hotels
- hostels
- guest houses
- apartments
- other accommodation properties
There is one important exception.
For citizens of Uzbekistan, children under 16 years old do not pay the tourist fee.
How much do citizens of Uzbekistan pay?
For citizens of Uzbekistan, the tourist fee is 0.4% of the Basic Calculation Value for each night of stay.
As of 2026, the Basic Calculation Value is 412,000 UZS.
This means the tourist fee for citizens of Uzbekistan is:
1,648 UZS per night
Example:
- 1 night — 1,648 UZS
- 2 nights — 3,296 UZS
- 3 nights — 4,944 UZS
How much do foreign guests pay?
For foreign guests, the amount depends on the size of the accommodation property.
The larger the hotel, the higher the fee.

For foreign guests, the rates are:
- 5% of the Basic Calculation Value for properties with up to 10 rooms
- 10% for properties with 11 to 40 rooms
- 15% for properties with more than 40 rooms
Example for a foreign guest
Let’s say you book a hotel in Uzbekistan for 3 nights.
If the hotel has more than 40 rooms, the tourist fee is:
61,800 UZS × 3 nights = 185,400 UZS
This is the total tourist fee for the full stay.
Why can the amount be different?
The final tourist fee can depend on several factors:
- your citizenship
- number of nights
- size of the hotel
- current Basic Calculation Value
- whether children are included in the booking
If the Basic Calculation Value changes, the tourist fee also changes.
What if I stay less than one full day?
If you stay for less than a full day, the tourist fee may still be charged as a full day.
For example, if you check in in the evening and check out the next morning, the fee may still be charged for 1 full day of stay.
Is the tourist fee included in the room price?
In many cases, the tourist fee is shown separately from the room price.
That is why you should always check:
- the final booking price
- payment conditions
- whether the fee is paid online or at the hotel
- whether additional charges are included in the room rate
